Easier: in Keeploop, Settings > General > Help (or the menu bar's speech bubble) has Send feedback, which opens an email with a diagnostics file attached. The file holds versions, settings with secrets masked and scrubbed logs, and never any mail. Check my setup (the stethoscope in the menu bar) tests every part of Keeploop and gives each problem one button that fixes it.

FAQ

Does Keeploop upload my mail? No. Keeploop has no server. It reads Apple Mail's local files on your Mac. Mail leaves your Mac only through the agent you connect and the optional features you switch on. See the Privacy Policy.

Which accounts work? Every account Apple Mail has on this Mac: Gmail, iCloud, Exchange and IMAP. You choose which ones agents may see in Settings > Accounts. Mail's "On My Mac" folders are never shown.

Can an agent send email? Only where you allow it. Settings > Permissions has one switch for sending (Block, Ask or Auto), with finer rules per app, account, label and contact. Ask shows the email on your Mac and sends only after you approve it, and every send has a 10-second undo. With sending blocked, an agent with Pro can still save a draft or a threaded reply draft in Mail for you to review and send yourself.

Which agents are supported? Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Codex CLI and the ChatGPT desktop app, VS Code, and any other MCP client through the JSON snippet in Settings > Connect agents.

What is free and what is Pro? Free: accounts, search, reading mail and attachments. Pro ($59 once, no subscription): drafts and reply drafts, monitors, the voice profile, and destinations such as webhooks.

Does the voice profile send my mail to an AI company? Only if you pick a model that does, and only when you press Build or Refresh. Apple Intelligence (Built in) and local models such as Ollama run on your Mac. A subscription CLI, cloud API key or remote custom endpoint receives samples of your sent mail.

What does Keeploop need to run? An Apple Silicon Mac on macOS 26 or later with Apple Mail set up.

Troubleshooting

An agent can call check_permissions to report exactly which permission is missing, or check_setup for every part of Keeploop at once (the same checks as Check my setup).

What you see Why Fix
"Keeploop is not running. Open Keeploop from Applications, then retry." the app is closed or was quit Open Keeploop. Turn on Settings > Setup > Open at login so it is always there.
"Keeploop's core is restarting. Retry in a few seconds." the background service is restarting after a crash or settings change Wait a few seconds and retry.
"This connector is not signed by Keeploop. Reinstall Keeploop." a copied or modified connector Reinstall Keeploop and reconnect the agent from Settings > Connect agents.
Search finds nothing at all, or a Full Disk Access error Full Disk Access is off (common after installing a new build, which macOS treats as a new app) System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access, switch Keeploop on. Quit and reopen Keeploop.
"Keeploop is not allowed to control Mail." Automation was denied System Settings > Privacy & Security > Automation, turn on Mail under Keeploop.
"Open Keeploop and finish setup (Automation step) first." Automation not granted yet Settings > Setup, Automation step.
Search finds nothing in one account that account is switched off for agents Settings > Accounts.
New mail does not show up, or monitors stop firing Mail itself stopped updating its index Quit Mail and open it again. If Quit does not finish, force quit Mail (Option-Command-Esc) and reopen it.
Mail stops responding to Keeploop and other apps a macOS permission prompt is waiting, often behind a locked screen Unlock the Mac and answer the prompt. If Mail stays stuck, quit and reopen Mail.
A message body reads "not available locally" Mail has not downloaded that message (common on Exchange) Open the message once in Mail.
No alert for your own test email monitors skip mail you sent yourself Send from a different address, or ask the agent for a monitor that includes your own mail.
"This needs Keeploop Pro." a Pro tool on the free tier Enter your key in Settings > License.
"Keeploop does not recognise this Mail database" a macOS update changed how Mail stores its index See below.

After a macOS update

Apple sometimes changes Mail's local storage in a major macOS release. When Keeploop sees a layout it has not been tested against, it stops and says so rather than returning wrong or empty results. Nothing is read or changed in the meantime. Check for a Keeploop update (menu bar > Updates, or Settings > License > Updates > Check now), and let Mail finish re-indexing after the upgrade, which can take a while on a large mailbox.

After any macOS update, also confirm that Full Disk Access and Automation are still on for Keeploop.

Uninstall cleanly

  1. Quit Keeploop from the menu bar (Quit).
  2. Remove the login item: System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions, remove Keeploop (or switch it off) if it is listed.
  3. Remove it from your agents:
    • Claude Code: claude plugin uninstall keeploop@keeploop, or claude mcp remove --scope user keeploop for a hand-added server.
    • Claude Desktop: Settings > Extensions, remove Keeploop.
    • Cursor: Settings > MCP, remove keeploop.
    • Codex CLI and ChatGPT desktop: press Remove next to Codex in Settings > Connect agents before deleting the app, or delete the [mcp_servers.keeploop] block from ~/.codex/config.toml.
    • VS Code: open the MCP servers list (Command Palette > "MCP: List Servers") and remove keeploop.
    • Any other client: delete the keeploop entry you added to its config.
  4. Delete the app: drag Keeploop from Applications (or ~/Applications) to the Trash.
  5. Delete its data:
    • ~/Library/Application Support/Keeploop/ (settings, monitors, voice profile)
    • ~/Library/Logs/Keeploop/
    • ~/Library/Preferences/app.keeploop.Keeploop.plist
    • Keychain Access: search for app.keeploop.Keeploop.apikeys and delete any items, if you saved API keys.
  6. Optional, permissions: remove Keeploop from System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access, Automation and Accessibility.

Drafts Keeploop created stay in Mail until you delete them. Uninstalling never touches your mail.
